About Me and How I Can Help You

My name is Beth Jackson Bates and I’m a jack of all trades in the web world. I’m also the owner of Web Strategies Internet Solutions, LLC, a boutique digital marketing firm specializing in helping small businesses connect with customers. I’ve been in the web biz for over 14 years and enjoy putting a new twist on traditional web technology. I help my clients understand their business needs and how digital marketing tools and tactics fulfill those needs.
In 1995 I started my career developing small brochure web sites for family and friends and realized that I had a real passion for technology. In 1998 I founded Web Strategies Internet Solutions and solidified an exciting career in web development and digital marketing. In the early years, I developed small static websites, but quickly moved into managing large, custom software development projects. From 2001 to 2006 I consulted with USA TODAY, where I supported the Education and Circulation departments with projects ranging from new websites to application development. During my time at USA TODAY I was a three-time Jewell award winner for business innovation. I also have ten years experience working with associations and nonprofits.

My Life Went to the Dogs
I founded GoodDogz.org, Inc. in 2003 to help fill a void in the animal welfare community. GoodDogz.org is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educating potential dog owners on dog selection and care and supporting the efforts of rescue groups. We believe that by assisting with good dog-owner matches, we’ll give each family the best opportunity for a life-long relationship with their new dog and help to keep dogs out of shelters. I currently serves on its board of directors as president. I am also busy creating Lazy Dog Rescue, Inc. to provide interim housing for homeless dogs in the Shenandoah Valley.
Contributing to the Blogging Community
I guest blog for Pivotal Brands about social media, for Women Grow Business about entrepreneurship and for TechSoup’s Nonprofit Commons about how nonprofits are using virtual worlds. I also blog about my dogs and their exploits at DoggieMayhem.com.
I am a member of the Warren County Chamber of Commerce and NTEN.
I live in Bentonville, VA, with her husband, Mark and six dogs, Katie, Willy, Hugo, Gorgeous George, Mickey and Bruno and three cats Zesty, Tangy and Spicy.
