Back from Vacation and Feeling Groovy

keywestAfter a much needed trip to paradise and some true R&R, I’m back at my desk and have so many great stories to share with you! Island living really gives you a different perspective n life. Island time is laid back and slow. People live and work at their own pace. While the tourists scurry around trying to cram as much into a week (or a few hours if you are on a cruise ship) as possible, the locals are calm, friendly and happy.

When I got back to my desk I had about 2000 emails waiting, papers stacked on my desk from before vacation and about a million household chores to catch-up on…not to mention the looming holidays. But, after being with folks who realize that life’s too short to stress, I realized that no matter how much I worried about getting things done – there is only so much you can do. So, I’ve been getting through my “pile” of catch-up work, ordering Christmas gifts and trying to embrace island life, even though I live in the cold, wintry mountains.

As we enter the following weeks of non-stop gatherings, holiday shopping, cooking and work, remember that life really is short and if you spend all of your time stressing you’re really going to miss it.

Until next week, when I look forward to sharing some stories, lessons learned and general fun from my holiday excursion to Key West!
