A Bit Behind This Week

Between wrapping up client projects, meeting about new projects and preparing for vacation, I’ve been swamped (and beat). And I have to admit that today’s dreary weather isn’t helping a bit.

I had a great meeting with a friend (and potential client) who just returned from vacation to 300 emails in her inbox. We tried to devise a way to not become completely overwhelmed when returning from a vacation, and alas, had few suggestions.

I try to let all my clients know that I’m going to be on vacation well in advance and plan to spend my first day back playing catch-up. I also leave at least one contact person who can reach me while I’m away. I do what I can to finish up any projects that can be completed before I leave and plan for new projects upon my return.

As I go through the motions of trying to prepare for several days away from the office, I’ve love to know….how do you prepare for clients for your own vacation?
