Online reputation monitoring (aka LISTENING) can seem overwhelming. How can you be everywhere at once? The good news? There are a variety of free (or mostly free) tools that help you listen with little effort. It takes a few minutes to set-up your criteria and you are off to the races. Here are five tools to get you started:
- Filtrbox.com – See what others are saying about your company in real-time on Twitter, social networks, blogs and thousands of online news outlets. Enables you to set-up key word alerts. Filtrbox Basic is FREE. Filtrbox G2 is priced “to scale with your usage.” Contact Filtrbox for a quote.
- Google Alerts – An oldie but a goodie and a must in my toolkit. Enables quick set-up of keyword alerts distributed via email or RSS feed.
- MonitorThis – Searches 26 search engine feeds for specified keywords. Results can be delivered as an RSS feed.
- SocialMention – I’ve just started using this one, but from what I can tell it provides quite a bit of information based upon your search criteria including the sentiment of the posts, stats on how often you are mentioned and the source.
- Monitter.com – Enables you to monitor the Twitter conversations and trends on up to three keywords.
I wrote a similar post in May with a similar theme but different tools – check it out!
