My mom's rescued dog, Poo

I’ve worked for myself for a long time and one of the perks that I seem to always come back to is the ability to schedule my own time. It’s something that I’ve become very accustomed to and know that it would be hard to ever give up. Sure, I usually end up working more, weird hours, but having the flexibility to fit in the projects that I WANT to do is a benefit that I am not willing to part with.

Today is the anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy and everyone has been asked to devote some time today to a cause – whatever makes you feel good.  Today I’ll be working on a few GoodDogz.org projects that are long overdue. One of my main tasks is keeping the website up-to-date which seems to get backburnered for other things. So, today I’m going to take care of the things that have been overlooked for too long. I’m also going to take a time out and play with my own rescue dogs because, hey, they are the reason that I do this.

So, even though life is busy, take some time today to reflect on those lost and help an elderly neighbor, play with a rescue dog or volunteer for a community project. I promise that it will make you feel good, make them feel great and, guess what? The work will still be there on Monday.
