Me, @marketingmisfit & @jillfoster - thx to Jill for taking such a phenom pic!
Kudos to @JustinHerman, @AllanDelmare and @rcellars for hosting such a kick ass time at TechAdventure DC (#techadv) at Rappahannock Cellars on Saturday. While my 60+ companions loaded onto a bus at the Capitol building, my hubby and I loaded into the pickup (trash for the dump in the back) and headed to TechAdventure DC to meet up with the bus.
After a quick stop at the dump (because that’s what you do in the country), I think I was the first to arrive @ 1:30pm so I chatted with Allan Delmare, wine host extraordinaire for a bit. My bestest bud, Mayra Ruiz-McPherson (@marketingmisfit), showed up shortly after so we dished until 2:30pm when the bus arrived. It was so good to meet up with Jill Foster (@jillfoster), Andrea Baker (@immunity) and other DCWWers out in my neck of the woods!
The day consisted of multiple wine tours and tastings, excellent nosh and fabulous music by The Marie Miller Trio. If you get the chance to check them out – do it – they are amazing!
To cap off the day, everyone was given a bottle of Rappahannock’s Claret wine with the custom TechAdventure DC label – tres magnifique!
My take away? The Shenandoah Valley rocks (but I already knew that). Don’t wear a Seersucker suit when we’re at 100% humidity (poor Justin). And hanging out with friends, drinking wine and talking about something other than work makes for a great Saturday.
I’m so glad that I could share my little slice of heaven here in the Shenandoah Valley with my DC friends and hope that they love it as much as I do. Y’all come back real soon now, ya hear?
