Join the “President for Change” by Making it Yourself

Love All Serve AllOur new president will be sworn in tomorrow at noon. There is incredible optimism that with this new president will come much needed change. While I am hopeful that change will be good, I’ve been trying to look at the new administration as a catalyst for personal change. The country needs an overhaul and I’d like to see that start at an individual level.

Changes can be small – like recylcing or using less gas. Changes can be large like starting a movement. All change is good.

I’ve decided to put more time into GoodDogz.org. I’ve somewhat let my particpation fall behind and am unhappy about it. I want to see animal welfare efforts progress this year and have vowed to be part of the solution. I chose a large change back in 2003 by starting the organization and I want to see it truly make a difference.

My husband and I are going to start building a kennel in the spring so that we can foster homeless dogs until they can find their forever homes. We’re really excited about it and can’t wait to make it a reality.

So, I feel like I am trying to create change both on a personal level and a corporate level. And it feels good.

Think about what’s important to you. You can’t payoff the national debt or stop the wars, but you can make a dent in a social need.

How are you going to make your own change?

Great idea! Imagine the change we could make if everyone made one small step toward lasting impact! I’ve personally gotten involved with 2 groups recently that I plan to work hard with to see what change I can make (a horse rescue group and a center for nonprofits).
