Sometimes I feel like adopting a pet is more difficult than adopting a child, but in the long run, these rescues do have the best interest of their animals in mind. North Shore Animal League is a top place. My dog, My mothers dog, and 3 of my friends dogs all came from North Shore about 12-15 years ago. All but one of them is still alive and doing great. North Shore goes through good checks to make sure their animals are going to proper homes as well. I felt like I was being "grilled" when I adopted "Nugget" but was glad to as I knew it was for their care of the animals. Highly recommend them for anyone to go to.
